Sussex Wildlife Trust (SWT) is running an exciting and fun-packed summer of activities at its Woods Mill nature reserve near Henfield. From 31 July every Tuesday and Wednesday the Trust’s Children’s Summer Holiday Club offers environmentally themed activity days designed to keep youngsters busy and happy during the school summer holidays.
Activities include minibeast hunts during Bugs & Beasties (31 July) or try your hand at sculpture making using natural materials from the reserve with Natural Art (21 August). There’s also the opportunity to learn woodland survival and bushcraft skills on I’m a Survivor (1, 7 & 15 August) or discover an abundance of hidden wildlife you never knew existed with High Fliers
(8 August) looking at birds, bats, butterflies and dragonflies.
The Children’s Summer Holiday Club is suitable for 6-11 year olds and runs between 10:30-14:30. Children do not need to be accompanied by adults but please supply a packed lunch, drink and suitable all weather clothing.
Cost for members: £7.50 per session and non-members: £10 per session.
SWT’s Holiday Club can only cater for limited numbers of youngsters so
booking is essential. To get further information and to reserve your place please telephone 01273 497561.
