Pantanal, Brazil
4 - 20 October 2008
The wetlands of the Pantanal form one of South America’s major ecosystems, holding a wealth of wildlife - one of the richest in the world. Until recently it was not well-known but it is now developing a good ecotourism infrastructure, providing spectacular wildlife viewing opportunities.
This holiday combines a week in the Pantanal in Brazil with four days at the Iguazu Falls on the Argentina-Brazil border. The world-famous falls are surrounded by Atlantic rainforest - again teeming with wildlife. Amongst the many species we hope to see on this holiday are giant otter, maned wolf, giant anteater, hyacinth macaw, greater rhea, jabiru stork, and perhaps even jaguar.
