Come to Bentley Wildfowl Woods for 5 days of practical activity gaining experience of ancient skills, woodcraft techniques and environmental know-how in the woods. Open to 11-14 year olds. This five day extravaganza introduces a wide range of activities, including traditional firelighting, working with greenwood, wild food, campfire cooking and much more. Meet at Bentley Wildfowl, Halland, nr. Lewes. There will be an overnight stay in reconstructed prehistoric buildings in Bentley Woods on Friday night and parents can attend on the Saturday afternoon.

Meet at 09:45 in Burton Mill Pond Car Park (Explorer Map 121: Ref: SU 979180). The car park is on the left about half a mile down a minor road travelling east off the A285, about a mile North of Duncton. Our two walks will explore Burton and Chingford Ponds, a local reserve and SSSI. On the circular three mile morning walk we visit Burton Pond, hoping to see a good range of birds and a number of varied dragonfly species including scarce chaser, gold-ringed and emperor. For lunch we drive to the Cricketers at Duncton, arriving around 12:30. The circular two and a half mile afternoon walk includes Chingford Pond.
