The Sussex Wildlife Trust’s Outreach Project aims to bring quality environmental education to your school, whilst fulfilling the requirements of the National Curriculum. Our workshops are highly practical and will generally involve working outside in your school grounds or with a selection of minibeasts and plants brought in from one of our reserves. Typical activities include minibeast hunts, observation of invertebrates using our popular video microscope, identification of plants and animals, wildlife parachute games, sensory games, craft activities and puppet shows.

Children will usually work in small groups, rotating around a selection of activities, led by experienced leaders. All activities are designed to help children foster respect for the environment and to treat animals and plants with care and sensitivity. Throughout the day, children will learn about the ways in which living things and the environment need protection. A pack of follow up activities will be provided.
We are able to work with up to four classes in a day. Our most popular programmes are listed below, however all of these can be adapted or combined to meet the needs of individual schools.
Cost: £200 per day / £150 per half day / £100 deposit
Some programmes marked* may be charged at £250 a day. These programme involve a pre-visit and resources made specifically for your grounds.
Transport costs will be charged over a 15 mile radius from Woods Mill
