Educational visits to Woods Mill take place throughout the year between 10.00am and 3.00pm, Mondays to Thursdays. Programmes are individually put together in consultation with the Education Officer, based on information sent back from the school.

How the day is organised
Each class is split into groups for the different activities. Whenever possible we have ten pupils to each group with a leader from the Sussex Wildlife Trust and the groups’ own adult helpers. However, this does depend on the availability of Trust staff and the size of the school party. We take a maximum of 70 pupils per day.
Staff in charge of visiting educational parties are advised that the Trust holds them fully responsible for the conduct of all members of their party during their visit. Woods Mill is a nature reserve and we should be grateful if those in charge would prevent any undue noise or running around. Adults accompanying a party are welcome and encouraged to participate in the activities, and we would appreciate their help. However, we do recommend that, wherever possible, parents DO NOT accompany their own child's group, and DO NOT bring pre-school children with them.
